Mixing & Mastering in Charlotte — Built for Live Spaces

Sessions are booked primarily at Audio Box Studios in Charlotte, NC, serving the greater Charlotte metro — including Mooresville, Huntersville, Concord, and Gastonia. I'm also open to booking at any studio of your choice, and remote mixing and mastering sessions are available worldwide.

A venue-ready record is mixed and mastered to translate on a large sound system — club rig, festival stack, arena PA — not just headphones and streaming. In practice that means three things: the low end is built so it stays defined when a subwoofer array multiplies it, the mix is checked folded to mono (summing left and right into one channel, which is what most of a crowd actually hears), and the master keeps headroom — space below the ceiling — so the house engineer has room to work instead of fighting a limiter that already used it all.

That's the job. A mix that only works on one system isn't finished. Every record is checked the way people actually listen — earbuds, a phone speaker, a car, studio monitors — and on the Gold tier it gets a further pass against large PA behavior. The goal is a record that keeps its balance, its low end, and its vocal wherever it lands.

No. Silver is the full mix and master, streaming-loud, and it's the right call if the record lives on platforms and playlists. The venue pass is for records that also have to work in a room — you're performing them, a DJ is playing them, or you're building a set around them. If that's not you yet, start with Silver. The session stays recallable if it becomes you later.

Yes. Send whatever you have — stems if they exist, the released master if they don't — and I'll build the performance side: DJ edits, stage stems, backing tracks with a click, and a version leveled to sit next to the rest of your set. Records I didn't mix are quoted per song after I hear the material.

Because I hear the results. I work front of house at arena scale, which means most weeks I hear finished, released records meet a large-format PA — and I hear which ones fall apart. Sub arrays expose low end that felt fine in headphones. Rooms sum wide stereo mixes toward mono and thin them out. Masters crushed for loudness leave the house engineer nothing to push. That's not theory I read; it's the feedback loop I mix inside.

The streaming master, plus a venue-translation pass over the same mix, DJ and performance mixes, performance stems and backing tracks labeled for a playback rig, unlimited revisions, and your session archived so future edits don't start from scratch. It's the Gold tier at $350 per song.

Not as a service — live production is where I work, not what I sell here. What I sell is what that work taught me: records mixed by someone who hears every week how records behave on a real system.

Yes. Most mixing and mastering work can be done fully remotely — you send stems and references, and review masters through a private link. Tracking and vocal production sessions run in-studio in the Charlotte, NC area.

Exported stems from your DAW (consolidated from bar 1, labeled, no master-bus processing), a rough mix for reference, and one or two commercial reference tracks. If you're not sure how to export, I'll walk you through it for your DAW.

A typical single is mixed and mastered within 48–72 hours of receiving complete stems. EPs and albums are scheduled per project — you'll get a committed timeline before we start.

Per-song packages run $100–$350. Bronze ($100) delivers a master-ready professional mix — mix only, no mastering. Silver ($175) is the full mix & master with radio edits and experimental vocal tuning. Gold ($350) is the Venue-Ready Record: everything in Silver plus a venue-translation pass, DJ and performance mixes, stage-ready stems, song storage, and unlimited revisions. EPs and albums are quoted per project.

Bronze and Silver packages include two rounds of revisions, and small fixes (level rides, mute/unmute decisions) don't count against them. The Gold package includes unlimited revisions. The goal is a record you're proud of, not a meter of change requests.
